Hi guys! So far its just processed foods and whatever healthy I can muster up like the salads and juices. I want to share something. I've noticed lately that with some recent weight gain, my body has acquired some changes I can't stand. One is acid reflux. This problem has gotten worst over the last year. At first, I thought it was just from eating spicy foods and drinking alcohol, so I stop mixing the two, but it didn't stop. It got worst. After some research, I now know it's due to weight gain and bending forward, which I do a lot for work. These are just a couple causes, but I'm afraid the reflux could get even worst if I don't do something about it now. Therefore, in addition to my vow to change my eating habits, a goal for this transition to healthy, safer eating is to get rid of this ridiculous reflux. This problem will be a test to see if having a more plant based diet could rid me of this health problem and no telling what else. That's the main problem I wanted to share because in one of the docs, the men and women mentioned were really sick, and only under 50 years old. I don't want to be 40, not even 30, and have an ice-cream bucket or large Ziploc bag full of medicine. It's scary how fast the body can become weak and sick due to unhealthy eating and no exercise. And if that's not surprising enough, I use to be very active. I participated on cheerleading teams since the 7th grade. I didn't know about healthy eating back then, so I was still a big girl, but an active big girl. Now that that activity has ceased and desist, the weight rose. It's unbelievable how small weights gains can have bigger effects than you think. My weight gain is similar to the "Freshmen 10," though I've been off campus for a while now. It started with 10 lbs and I started getting lazy. I brushed it off at first, falsely assuring myself I could join another team or get one of the school trainers to help me loose the weight, its just 10 lbs. But oh no, I let mind lazy body take over, and then another ten came. Eventually, I've reached a weight I promised myself years ago to never ever reach. Its just not healthy, period! Plus, with diabetes and breast cancer running in my family, its 10x's more not healthy for me. That's just a snippet of what was going through my mind today. I hope I can get you all to join in my effort to healthy, safer eating. Thanks
